Official: Wydad Casablanca sack Zoran Manojlovic after CAF Champions League draw

The 57-year-old Serbian arrived in the off-season as a replacement for Faouzi Benzarti and started life in Morocco in emphatic fashion with seven straight wins.

However, an early exit in the Arab Cup, falling four points behind RCB Berkane in the title race and only one win in four games in the CAF Champions League has seen Wydad pull the plug.

The 2-2 draw with Petro du Luanda was seemingly the last straw for the club's hierarchy, as Group C rivals Mamelodi Sundowns secured a last-eight berth with two rounds of fixtures remaining.

While the club's board and fans alike have often expressed their admiration for Masandawana boss Pitso Mosimane, it's unlikely that the African giants will make a move for the South African tactician.
