Al Wahda have denied they have tabled a contract offer to Pitso Mosimane in an attempt to lure him away from Egyptian giants Al Ahly.
Mosimane has strongly been linked with an exit from the record 10-time CAF Champions League winners within Egyptian and UAE media with reports claiming he'd been tabled a $5-million (R75m) a year contract offer.
Former Al Ahly goalkeeper Ahmed Shobier poured cold water over the speculation on Saturday by claiming Mosimane has no intention of leaving Cairo at this stage, one year into his project.
But while the rumours failed to die down due to his representative Moira Mosimane being in the Emirates, the director of football of Al Wahda went on record to deny approaching his camp while backing current head coach Henk ten Cate, who was formerly employed by AFC Ajax, Chelsea and FC Barcelona.
"This talk is baseless, and no contact has taken place with any person or coach, and our confidence at the present time is very great in the current technical staff," Rashid Al-Zaabi told Al-Hadath Al-Youm.
"The person you are talking about is Al-Ahly's coach, and I do not know why he links the names of coaches in Egypt to Al-Wahda, yesterday the coach of Zamalek and today Al-Ahly, and we do not make any contact or coach except the current coach."

Al-Zaabi went on to reiterate their confidence in their current coach and expressed their respect for the African giants with claims they would not approach Mosimane without their knowledge.
"We wish success to the coach with Al-Ahly club, and we wish Al-Ahly success, and we have no intention of changing the coach. Please do not listen to the words of agents or any other words," he added.
"This is one of the news that we laugh at because no one thinks in this way, a coach who receives a salary in Al Ahly, and it is said that he will go to the unit with a greater salary, please do not get carried away by news that has no basis.
"We respect Al-Ahly to the utmost degree, and if we have any intention of contracting with someone inside Al-Ahly, we will contact the club directly."
