Goals from Mpho Makola and Oupa Manyisa had given the visitors the lead following Yasser Mugerwa’ opener in the 36th minute, with a Frank Kalanda strike denying the Bucs victory late on.
However, the draw was enough as the Soweto club progressed 4-3 on aggregate, leaving coach Eric Tinkler delighted.
“We are happy that even with some of our key players out injured, we have managed to qualify for the next round,” he said after the match.
URA manager Alex Isabirye was understandably disappointed, lamenting his side’s missed chances over the 90 minutes.
“It is very disappointing that we created many chances but failed to take them,” he said.
The Buccaneers will now face Gabon’s FC Mounama in the next round of the continental competition.
