CT City star set for overseas move?

Cape Town City could lose the services of Cameroonian midfielder Brice Ambina, who has been invited for trials overseas.

Ambina missed the Nedbank Cup match against SuperSport United in Tshwane on Tuesday.

City has since crashed out of the Nedbank Cup tournament after being beaten 3-1 on penalties by SuperSport in front of less than 200 fans at the Lucas Moripe stadium.

The Citizens coach Eric Tinkler gave  Khanya Leshabela his debut for the Cape Town-based outfit and explained the absence of Ambina in the squad that played against Matsatsantsa in Atteriddeville on Tuesday.

"We lost Brice now. He left, he is away, and Thato Mokeke has a long-term injury. We lost two key players," Tinkler told the journalist during the post-match press conference.

"We had Khanya training with us to assess and because of the situation we facing we ended up signing  Khanya rapidly if I can put it like that. Losing Ambina and Mokeke was two big losses to us."

The Citizens will now switch the focus to the DStv Premiership league match against SuperSport in Cape Town on February 28.
