In our exciting feature How I Became A Goalkeeper, KickOff speaks to Cape Town Spurs goalkeeper Neil Boshoff.
The 27-year-old Pinetown-born star reveals how his brother inspired him to become a goalkeeper.
I'm sure you have an interesting story to tell about how you became a goalkeeper.
"For me, it wasn't accidental, I have an older brother, he was a goalkeeper.
"I saw what he was doing and I thought it was fun, and as a younger brother I wanted to copy an older brother. That was back in Durban.

"I think I was about 5 or 6 years old when I started, and I've been there ever since. I played the right-back position for one year, and it wasn't for me.
"I joined the AmaZulu development, and I was promoted to the first team. I was with AmaZulu for 7 and a half years.
"I then left for Richards Bay, and now I'm here in Cape Town, at Cape Town Spurs."
Who are some of the goalkeepers you grew up following?
"Senzo Meyiwa, Moeneeb Josephs, mostly the local goalkeepers. And fortunately, when I joined AmaZulu I happened to meet a very good goalkeeper in Energy Murambadoro.
"Murambodoro was incredible towards me, he taught me all the squads he learned.
"I was also fortunate to work with Moeneeb, although it was in his final season of playing, and he became the coach for me.

"Internationally I used to watch a lot of Spanish football, and Iker Casillas was my favorite.
"All the goalkeepers I have mentioned I like the way they carried themselves on the field, and they are all shot-stoppers."
Which goalkeepers are still playing today, who are your favorites?
"Locally I will say Ronwen Williams is one of my favorites to watch. He is Bafana Bafana's number 1 for a reason, and he is very, very good.
"Veli Mothwa as well, a good goalkeeper locally, and also a good friend.
"Internationally I will probably say my two favourites are Allison and Ederson in the Premier League."
