Chippa trying to convince Pirates to 'return' Mosele

Chippa United co-coach Thabo September has revealed that the Eastern Cape club is planning to get back Goodman Mosele for another loan stint.

Mosele, who made a total of 25 appearances in all competitions this past season, has been released back to his parent club Orlando Pirates following a season-long stint at Chippa.

The Gqeberha-based outfit also allowed 24-year-old left-back Gadinkame Modise to return to his parent club Mamelodi Sundowns after having made 17 appearances from all competitions.

In addition to the above-mentioned duo, the club released 16 other players.

"Most players that are on the list are players that have not featured regularly," September explains to KickOff.

"It's a matter of trying to see how we can improve the team. Yes, the number seems big, but it's mostly players who were not playing.

"Loaned players have to go back to their mother clubs, and then we will see if a deal can be worked out again, but we have to take people back to their teams.

"They are not our players, so we have to take them back, and then their clubs will have to make a decision.

"Of course, we are interested in having both of them back, but it's not our decision.

"We have made our intentions known to their clubs," he says further.

September reveals that not every space created by the 16 players' departure will be filled ahead of the upcoming campaign.

"We can't have 16 replacements. We already have a big number, we have players that we have promoted from the DDC [DStv Diski Challenge].

"We have introduced five to six players that came through this past season. So, we're not gonna make too much [of a] recruitment. We're gonna try to add some quality that can help though.

"We've been in the market already and we do have players that we might be adding, but ja, it's not easy.

"We want to build on what we did last season. We are happy with what we have done in the past six months. We are planning for a full season now, and we want to do better."
