Morgan Mamilla throws support behind Skhwama

Chippa United head coach Morgan Mammila has thrown his support behind the Chili Boys' new midfielder Tshepo 'Skhwama' Matete.

The Gqeberha outfit on the transfer deadline announced  the signing of Matete from Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila. Mamilla has wasted no time in welcoming the skillful midfielder, taking to social media to back the 31-year-old.

"Welcome to CHIPPA family of Neno Neno and unity my boy. I know what you can do when given a chance," Mammila said via Twitter.

Matete had previous stints with Baroka FC, University of Pretoria and more recently, TTM (Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila). He was instrumental in the side's 2022 Nedbank Cup campaign, featuring five times and scoring one goal.

His new side, Chippa United, is in need of solutions, having collected six wins from 19 DStv Premiership matches, and just one win from their last five games.

In fairness to Mammila, the former taxi boss oversaw four of those victories after taking over the helm from Daine Klate in September.

Chippa may also confidence from being unbeaten in their last three matches when they take on Stellenbosch on Saturday, a match that could also serve as a debut for Skhwama.
