Mamelodi Sundowns currently have a 19-point lead at the top of the DStv Premiership table.

Downs are also on a 13-game winning streak and double the points that Chiefs have, Maart has somewhat surrendered that the league will remain in Chloorkop for another season.

On the "Maart responds to Downs cruise to title" story, the young midfielder admitted that Amakhosi have been short of luck in front of goal but added that the squad is still working hard for Arthur Zwane.

The readers had plenty to say on Maart's comments:

"Maart was certain and sure that Chiefs will win the 2022/2023 league title with an average coach like Zwane, Chiefs and Zwane need three to four years in order for them to master winning the league," says user983385.

"How can you just give up like that Maart? You guys are hurting our feelings," says Nhlax.

"The coach (Zwane) said Chiefs' campaign will go down to the wire and Maart said the league is gone. Who is fooling who here," says ngwanamoshate.70.

Rulani Mokwena has responded to criticism that Sundowns are hoarding the country's best players. He pointed out that the depth is vindicated by the club's congested fixture list that includes the upcoming CAF Champions League.

The league leaders have caught some heat from other DStv Prem coaches and Chiefs legend, Jabu Mahlangu, who went as far as saying that Sundowns are 'killing' the national team.

The readers took to the comment section of the "Rulani defends Sundowns' squad depth amid criticism of 'killing' Bafana" to respond to Mahlangu's rant about Masandawana:

"Jabu Mahlangu... Sundowns have been consistently perfecting how they play (philosophy) for many decades, even before you can think you would play football, hence you see every player playing for Sundowns as star. It's because of the system, Mr. I played football. That's why those who left a structured playing team, your Billiat's, Dolly's, Mphahlele's, and Castro's, don't perform in your team.

"Simple reason is, give Sundowns' technical team the respect they deserve and learn modern football," says tshepotcd.

"Jabu Pule Mahlangu are you okay up there? Bafana Bafana died a real death long ago, even before Motsepe took over at Sundowns. Tell me which player was selected while playing for Black Leopards mhhhh? Mabunda, Mudau and Kapinga never donned that Bafana jersey before coming to Sundowns and they were never selected.

"Only now that they're at Sundowns they are selected for Bafana Bafana. That means Sundowns is rebuilding the dead Bafana Bafana and not the other way round," says bhekilekhuleni6.

"Sundowns is not playing just for the top 8 status," says Shikabala.
