Masihambisane Walk & Family Picnic by Jabulani Mendu Foundation set for 16 June 2021

Despite all the difficulties Covid-19 has brought into people's lives, the ex-Kaizer Chiefs and Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder continues with his good deeds of ploughing back to his community of Vosloorus.

The former Premier Soccer League star has organised an all-day event filled with music and entertainment which takes place on Wednesday, 16 June 2021 at Crisp Lifestyle, Vosloorus.

"There's a venue called Crispy in Vosloorus, that's where we will start and finish our walk," Mendu explains to snl24.com/kickoff.

"There's a 5km and 8km, after the walk, there will be family picnics. Food will be there...we will also have music artists performing but we can't reveal their names at this stage.

"We are going to have food stalls, there will also be a stall for Jabulani Mendu Foundation clothing range.

"Reason we chose to walk and not run is that a Walk accommodates everybody, young, old, cripple...and you can have a conversation with someone while walking.

"Let's not run away from the fact that it's June 16, so we need as much as we walking for health reasons, but we also need to have a conversation with these young ones and explain the significance of the day.

"It's educational. At the same time, while we educating the young ones, it's a meet and greet session. When you pay for your ticket you also get a wristband that will grant you access to the picnic.

"We have both online and tangible tickets, so you gonna choose which method you wanna choose."

Registration is R100, while the contact number for Jabulani Mendu Foundation director Zanele Molefe is 079 308 8825.
