This will be used to develop the growth of school football in the six CAF Zones which was launched by the two football governing bodies in the Democratic Republic of Congo last month.
"The best investment we can make to ensure that African football is amongst the best in the world and self-sustaining, is to invest in schools' football and youth football development infrastructure for boys and girls at club and national level. This is one of my key focus areas as President of CAF," Motsepe said at the event.
Kids between the ages of 12 and 15 will be eligible to take part in the continental event which will be played at national, zonal and eventually towards the FIFA-CAF Pan-African School Football Championship Finals.
According to CAF media, the first full edition of the tournament will take place between 2022 and 2023.
