Chiefs drop points on return to Diski Challenge

Kaizer Chiefs 2-2 Chippa United

Kaizer Chiefs resumed their DStv Diski Challenge campaign with a 2-2 draw against Chippa United Saturday afternoon at Tsakane Stadium.

Amakhosi, who were without Mfundo Vilakazi, had a bad start after an own goal by Khulumani Ndamane on 16 minutes gave Chippa the lead.

The Glamour Boys almost went 2-0 down four four minutes later after Asanele Bonani beat the defence and goalkeeper Lungile Nkosi but missed the gaping net.

However, Neo Bohloko levelled matters for Vela Khumalo's charges just after the hour-mark.

Thando Jacobs restored the lead for the Chilli Boys on 65 minutes but Bohloko equalised again for Chiefs and completed his brace just three minutes later.

Chiefs' winless run extended to five matches.

SuperSport United 1-2 Stellenbosch

SuperSport United new coach Roscoe Krieling started his reign on a losing note after a 2-1 defeat to Stellenbosch on Saturday afternoon at Tsakane Stadium.

Shaakir Ahmed opened the scoring for Stellies on 18 minutes and Thabang Mahlangu equalised for SuperSport.

However, Mervin Boji snatched the winner for the Western Cape side 11 minutes before time as they extended their winning run to five matches.

Krieling was in his first match in charge after replacing Thabo September, who has been appointed co-coach alongside Kwanele Kopo at Chippa United.
