Kaizer Chiefs 0-2 Orlando Pirates
Orlando Pirates started their DStv Diski Challenge Rewired journey with a 2-0 win over Kaizer Chiefs in the Soweto derby at the Dobsonville Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
The Buccaneers made a strong opening so too did the Glamour Boys, but the first half still finished goalless as the two cancelled out each other.
Pirates entered the second half with purpose and had the opener through Boitumelo Radiopane, who claimed a brace in the dying minutes whilst Lebohang Lesako threatened a consolation but 2-0 it finished.
Swallows FC 1-1 Baroka FC
A nine-man Swallows FC played to a 1-1 draw against Baroka FC in the first clash of the day out at the Dobsonville Stadium in Dobsonville.
It was Baroka that netted first through Dan Ndlovu in the middle of the first half, but the host responded soon before the break and equalised courtesy of Sphesihle Mbhele's stunner.
Then came the red cards, with Swallows first on the receiving end through Vusi Mkhwanazi before Bowali Mogau followed suit on the side of Baroka.
Baroka could've wrapped it up from the spot late on but Augustine Mahlonoko applied a poor finish whilst Swallows had Siphiwe Nkosi dismissed for a second bookable offence as it finished level.
Stellenbosch FC 1-1 SuperSport United
SuperSport United rallied from a goal down to grind out a hard-fought 1-1 draw against Stellenbosch FC away from home.
Stellies had the first bite of the cherry in the midway phases of the first half following a finish from Fuad Johnson, but Matsatsantsa forced their way back after halftime through Keenan Bezuidenhout.
AmaZulu 1-1 Golden Arrows
AmaZulu and Golden Arrows shared the spoils in a 1-1 draw in a tough KwaZulu-Natal derby at the Chatsworth Stadium.
It was the home side that threw the first punch late in the first half with a finish from Msindisi Ndlovu, but Abafana Besthende replied near the end of the clash through Ismail Omar Zuma.
