Wives and girlfriends reveal PSL baes' home secrets

PSL footballers' wives and girlfriends are living up to the call to help keep players fit during this period of isolation at home.

Like the rest of the world, all local football activities remain suspended which has given all our PSL players the opportunity to go home and spend more time with their families.

Manchester United manager Ole Gunner Solskjaer recently suggested players' wives and girlfriends should help them keep fit during the very difficult situation of trying to maintain fitness within four walls.

Nosipho Bilankulu has welcomed spending the football break with her husband and Golden Arrows midfielder Musa Bilankulu after they recently got married.

"It's been wonderful being back at home since all the wedding festivities have ended. I was more excited than ever to start this life officially," Nosipho tells snl24.com/kickoff.

"Since the lockdown in South Africa we have coped indoors but still training resumes for my husband because his career depends on it. He trains twice a day and my job is being videographer."

Thabo Matlaba's wife Tebogo says the Black Leopards captain also adjusting to spending more time with her husband in Johannesburg. 'Festival' is currently based in Polokwane due to his job with Lidoda Duvha.

"Our husbands are not used to this kind of environment because most of the time they are away. So as wives we have to make our homes conducive for them," Tebogo admits.

"It can be tricky if you are not staying with your husband full-time because you are both used to doing things individually. So I try as much as possible to adjust to my role as a wife and let him lead as a husband.

"We work out together in our backyard every morning. I allow him to do the programme and follow him even though it's tough for me [to copy his training]."

Polokwane City midfielder Edgar Manaka recently posted on Instagram how he works out with his fiance Felicia Mabuza, who attends most of the team's games in Polokwane to support her partner.

"It's very simple yet not easy for everyone due to the situation that our nation is facing," Mabuza says.

"Our partners are professional players and should abide by the President's call and not forget to obey all the measures in place.

"It is important for them to remember that this is not a holiday but a crucial time for them to keep fit at home and do their daily exercises so that they don't lose their fitness."

Nosipho Bilankulu, Tebogo Matlaba and Felicia Mabuza have since called on the nation to be united and abide by the precautionary measures put in place to help curb the spread of the coronavirus.

"Please, let's take the necessary measures, wash our hands regularly and stay at home. If we work together as a nation, this shall pass soon," Mabuza concludes.
