Nabi demands more from Chiefs players

Head coach Nasreddine Nabi has called for improvement in his side after Kaizer Chiefs battled from behind to salvage a 2-2 draw against topflight newcomers Magesi FC.

Chiefs left it late to salvage a draw against Limpopo-based Magesi thanks to a Shabalala brace after Wonderboy Makhubu and Edmore Chirambadare had put the hosts in a comfortable position going into the last quarter of the game.

The men in Gold and Black utterly dominated the tie with 26 attempts at goal, with nine on target.

Magesi, meanwhile, had two attempts at goal, both finding the back of the net.

Despite the points gained rather than three dropped, Nabi insisted that he drew no positives from the encounter and firmly believes his side should have secured s victory.

"Today, there is nothing positive that we are taking because we believe that we should have won the three points," Nabi told journalists via translator and assistant coach Cadric Kaze in the post- match press conference at Peter Mokaba Stadium.

"It's true that we've come from two goals behind, which shows the improvement in mentality and character. But that was not enough because we believe we should've taken the three points today.

"It's obviously something that we have improved on, the character. But in this kind of game for this kind of club, it's not enough. We need to do more in the beginning, we need to do more possession, we need to score when we have these kind of opportunities," Nabi added.

The draw sees Chiefs move up a spot to eighth on the log after five matches.
