With the looming twist relating to the expunging of Royal AM's points in the Betway Premiership standings, this website looks at how it affects the relegation and Top Eight battles.
After the PSL Executive Committee recommended that Royal AM's membership be cancelled, essentially expelled from the League, to the Board of Governors, the prevailing consequence is that the PSL log standings must undergo unusual changes.

According to NSL rules, a team that is expelled without having completed at least one round of matches will have to have their points expunged, as if they did not participate at all.
With the season left with five games and up to eight games for teams with matches in hand, the imminent reality will benefit some and inconvenience others, as the final log standings will finish with 15 teams, with each team having played 28 games.
Apart from any changes that could emanate from Royal AM's court interdict application of the sitting of the BoG, who are expected to finalize their expulsion, teams fighting relegation - such as SuperSport United and Cape Town City, in unfamiliar 15th and 14th places respectively - will be relieved they did not bag wins against the KZN side.
Instead, both teams, separated by one point in the relegation dogfight, both played to goalless draws against Royal AM, so the one-point deduction from each would not make a marked difference.
For a team like AmaZulu FC, lying seventh, however, Top Eight chances could be dented, as their 2-1 win over Thwihli Thwahla will be cancelled and three points deducted.

Moreover, their Top Eight hopes could be enhanced by the fact that rivals Golden Arrows, two points behind them on the log, will have three points deducted from their total points after their 3-2 victory over Royal AM.
