Chiefs monitoring Eswatini youngster

Kick Off can reveal that the Kaizer Chiefs are currently monitoring the performance of Mbabane Swallows midfielder Leon Manyisa.

The Eswatini national team midfielder impressed Chiefs boss Bobby Motaung, with the club's football manager having traveled to the Mountain Kingdom to watch the King's Spectacular Cup a fortnight ago.

Manyisa started the match for Swallows when they drew 2-2 against TS Galaxy during the Mpumalnga Premier's Cup tournament in Mbombela on Saturday.

The Mbabane-born star was part of the Sihlangu Semnikati squad during the COSAFA Cup tournament that was held in Gqeberha last month.

According to sources close to Amakhosi, 'Bobsteak' has already had a word with the club's technical team about Manyisa after impressing him during a tournament in Eswatini.

"Bobby Motaung was here in Eswatini a few weeks ago. He was invited to another tournament that featured another South African team, Blue Crane from Mpumalanga. He was impressed by the youngster's performance.

"He has already spoken to his club in Eswatini, Mbabane Swallows. The club is open to allowing the player to move on to play in the PSL next season," said a source.

Manyisa was due to join Highlands Park a few seasons ago, before the club was sold to Tim Sukazi and renamed TS Galaxy.

If signed by the Soweto giants the Sihlangu Semnikati international will join the likes of Dennis Masina, Wonder Nhleko and Sbusiso Dlamini among players to have plied their trade in the PSL from the neighbouring country.
