Chiefs new striker reflects on debut

Kaizer Chiefs' new striker Christian Saile Basomboli has opened up making his debut for the Amakhosi against Royal AM.

Basomboli was unveiled the latest arrival at Naturena following a successful trial with Amakhosi during the FIFA mid-season break.

The 22-year striker did not take long to make his presence felt, coming on a substitute during Chiefs DStv Premierships clash against Royal AM on Sunday night and contributing an assist to Ashely Du Preez goal.

The Congolese forward, who only got his documents approved a day before the clash, has since reflect of the thrilling ng night.

"I was very happy when I found out my documents were ready because I wanted to play for Kaizer Chiefs as soon as possible," the striker told Chiefs website.

"I was very pleased to be involved in the match day squad. I got a good reception from the Chiefs fans. As a new player it made me feel good to hear them welcome me."

Chiefs are putting in the final preparations for a DStv Premiership clash against TS Galaxy on Sunday and Basomboli could get his full debut for the side.

However, with Caleb Bimenyimana currently being Amakhosi's top scorer, Ashley Du Preez finding his scoring form and academy graduate Wandile Duba knocking on the door, a starting position will be hard to come by.
