Chiefs keen to sign highly-regarded Nigerian defender

Kaizer Chiefs are being sensationally linked with a move for highly-regarded Nigerian defender Denis Nya from Zambian giants Zesco United.

Chiefs are aiming to reinforce their defence even further for next season after recently announcing the addition of Thatayaone Ditlhokwe from SuperSport United on a pre-contract agreement.

KickOff can reveal that the Phefeni Glamor Boys have now set their sights on the Nigeria youth international after dispatching scouts to personally assess the 26-year-old in a clash against Power Dynamos in Lusaka over the weekend.

Dynamos and Zesco played to a 1-1 draw with Nya reportedy impressing with a commanding performance during the match.

"Kaizer Chiefs are keen and are currently monitoring his performances in Zambia," a source close to the situation reveals to KickOff.

Meanwhile, Chiefs are believed to have also secured the services of midfielder Pule Mmodi on a pre-contract from Golden Arrows.
