When Itumeleng Khune reported for duty this week at Kaizer Chiefs, he was greeted by new faces in the club's technical team with Fernando da Cruz in charge.
Da Cruz is temporarily in charge as the club awaits the arrival of their new head coach Nasreddine Nabi, who has a cup final to play at FAR Rabat in Morocco before his flight to Johannesburg.

While Khune has contract-related matters to iron out with his current deal up at the end of June, he now needs both his fingers and toes to count the man that he has seen in charge.
Khune was promoted to the first team at Chiefs ahead of the 2004/05 season when the late Ted Dumitru was in charge.
Dumitru was then replaced by Ernst Middendorp, who then handed over the baton to Kosta Papic with Khune still waiting to play his first match.
Muhsin Ertugral's return then paved way for the Ventersdorp-born keeper to make his debut just weeks after turning 20.
Since then, Khune has had minutes under all coaches that have called the shots at the club in Vladimir Vermezovic, Ace Khuse/Doctor Khumalo, Stuart Baxter, Steve Komphela, Patrick Mabedi, Giovanni Solinas, Middendorp, Gavin Hunt, Arthur Zwane, Molefi Ntseki and Cavin Johnson.

Factoring in that Da Cruz is on standby for Nabi, it comes up to 16 coaches in 20 years for Khune at Chiefs.
What makes it even a bigger count is the number of changes that Khune has seen take place with Baxter and Middendorp having been at the helm twice, while Zwane was caretaker before being handed the job proper.

The 37-year-old played the most football under Komphela, who came within a month of completing three years at the club.
Specific to him, Khune has also seen a fair count of goalkeeper coaches with IIyes Mzoughi the latest.
