Deadline Day drama at Chiefs?

Kaizer Chiefs look set for another reshuffle before the transfer window slams shut on Friday, with two players reportedly facing the exit door along with the possible addition of a new Assistant coach.

The Phefeni Glamour Boys have already concluded the chunk of their transfer business with as many as seven new arrivals.

These are Gaston Sirino, Inacio Miguel, Bradley Cross, Bongani Sam, Fiacre Ntwari, Rushwin Dortley and Njabulo Blom, the latter returning on a season-long loan from St. Louis City.

Chiefs have has also seen its fair share of exits, as Njabulo Ngcobo, S'fiso Hlanti, Itumeleng Khune and Keagan Dolly, who all vacated their roles at the end of their respective contracts in June.

However, according to insiders, there could still be more surprises at The Village before the transfer window slams shut at midnight on Friday.

These include the pending exit of midfielder Sibongiseni Mthethwa, who, according to local media, has already been offered to several PSL teams, one being newly promoted Magesi FC.

'Ox' is not the only one possibly headed for the exit door, with midfielder Sabelo Radebe also looking to be on his way out, as is Happy Mashiane, according to insiders.

The Naturena-based outfit are also on the hunt for an assistant coach after the exit of assistant coach Fernando da Cruz – who returned to Morocco to take up a role with the Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF) just a week before the side's first match of the season.

Amakhosi have already dispelled the suggestion that current senior academy coach Arthur Zwane would take up the role of assistant coach – a role the retired winger served under Gavin Hunt and Stuart Baxter.

Instead, Chiefs are understood to have approached Young Africans' Cedric Kaze.

The Burundian was part of Nabi's backroom staff when he served as head coach – a partnership that yielded back-to-back trophies.

Nabi has been vocal about the need for a replacement should Cruz indeed leave.

"Why not? All is possible," the Tunisian-Belgian mentor told journalists after the 2-1 win over Marumo Gallants.

"It's possible because I have too much work, [to do at Chiefs]. [To work] only with one assistant is not [ideal].

"If Mr Cruz definitely goes to Morocco, I think it's good. We received a letter from Morocco, but we waited for a better time to observe the situation."

Chiefs will aim to have their transfer business sorted by the time they take on AmaZulu FC on Wednesday at Moses Mabhida Stadium.
