Pre-deadline departures looming at Chiefs?

As Kaizer Chiefs put in the final preparations in anticipation of the start of the Betway Premiership season, the future of several players at the club remains the subject of intrigue.

Chiefs have had a rather busy transfer window that has seen them welcome as many as seven new faces to the squad.

These include Gaston Sirino, Rushwin Dortley, Bradley Cross, Bongani Sam, Fiacre Ntwari, Inacio Miguel and Njabulo Blom, with the latter joining on loan.

However, with all those arrivals, there has also been a need to trim the squad.

The Glamour Boys have already let go of Njabulo Ngcobo, Keagan Dolly, Siyethemba Sithebe and S'fiso Hlanti, whose contracts expired at the end of June.

Fresh information reaching this website is that the club is now looking to offload more players before the transfer window deadline day of 20 September.

Sibongiseni Mthethwa leads the list with the Soweto giants having reportedly offered the midfielder to several clubs on either a loan deal or a permanent move just one year into his big-money move to Naturena from Stellenbosch FC.

Sabelo Radebe is the second player set to leave and the club has also offered him to several clubs.

The 24-year-old has struggled to secure a place at Chiefs, making three appearances from the substitutes' bench last season.

Third on the list is Happy Mashiane.

The winger-cum-left-back has failed to make an impact in either position and started just one of the seven matches he featured in last term.

Meanwhile, Amakhosi will begin their 2024/25 campaign on Saturday with a clash against Marumo Gallants at Toyota Stadium in Bloemfontein.

Kick off is at 15:00.
