Argentine attacker Junior Mendieta opened up for the first time about his blockbuster move from Stellenbosch FC to DStv Premiership champs, Mamelodi Sundowns.
Mendieta's big move came on the back of a stellar 2022/23 season where he bagged 10 goals and nine assists in 31 appearances.
The 30-year-old said he's happy to be joining Masandawana and has always admired the club. He was also drawn by the club's desire to challenge for trophies.
Let's take a closer look at how the readers responded to the "'That's what attracted me to this team,' - Mendieta opens up on blockbuster Sundowns move" story:
"You go and show them you're worth the competition and win those trophies with us. We aiming high for another CAF Champions League my guy," says malizakhe8.
"Welcome to the home of champions, Junior. You are a great player and you are competitive indeed. Your passion is always evident whenever you take on the field. Great addition to an already staggering squad.
"My worry about consistent addition of potential starters is the CL pursuit because the team that we have is good enough to go again and potentially all the way this season, but now we'll have to blend in these new players.
"If you check the previous winners of the CL here in Africa and around the world they don't change the team after failure. Wydad, Al Ahly, Liverpool and City are perfect examples," says Minwana Phezulu.
"A player that has ambition and wants trophies has to go to Sundowns," says Dominate-downs.
"Chiefs were monitoring Mendieta but the club's lack of desire to win trophies turned him away," says makhause(2).
"We were not prepared to be exploited by Stellenbosch, the player is simply overpriced and overhyped," says ayanda.mbalu2015.
"Welcome to the home of Champions, before the end of May 2024 you will be having a medal. Some Clubs are trophyless for 8yrs but they keep on talking about the badge, the brands and the Facilities. Nxa," says ngwanamoshate.70.
"You're so bitter irrespective of your team winning the trophies yet you worry about teams not winning. The sleeping giant never gives you peace because you know once it's woken you won't have peace," says Rio Da Khosi.
"I like what Sundowns are doing, everybody must pull up his socks, after-all, Sundowns is comprised of human beings, people must just stop crying and just compete and at the end of the day, we as the public just want a good product," says mthunzijack7.

SuperSport United have reportedly pulled off the permanent signing of midfielder Grant Margeman, who enjoyed a successful loan at Matsatsantsa last season.
It's not clear whether the deal could be part of Sundowns' reported acquisition of Thapelo Maseko but Margeman is said to have penned a three-year-deal.
He should become SuperSport's third signing of the season, with Siphesihle Ndlovu and Phathutshedzo Nange also adding to Gavin Hunt's midfield depth.
Here's how the readers reacted to the "'It's a done deal' - Sundowns star to make permanent switch to SuperSport" story:
"Sundowns and SuperSport have a good working relationship yazi. Some just wait for free agents and I won't be surprised if they go after Billiat again since he is a free agent," says Dominate-downs.
"I am eager to read about the the price SuperSport paid as the media know that about every player joining Sundowns. Sundowns paid R51m for this player and R20m for that player. Tell us how much they paid?" asks thulasmda.
"I can help you.. Sundowns paid 20 million plus a player for Maseko.. And the player is Grant," responds lgmahlangu1992.
"Apparently this is fast becoming a good bait for Sundowns, quality players wouldn't want to devalue themselves and join inferior squads. Huge sums attract good players over to Sundowns and soon across the globe," says makhause(2).
"It's always a pleasure doing business with Mr. Matthews. On behalf of the Yellow Nation supporters, we thank you for the Thapelo Maseko deal, we can now close the books.
"I hope Chiefs can learn one or two things about how deals are done, waiting for free agents is like a passenger waiting for a hitchhike," says His Majesty Yellow PSL Beast.
