After returning to Chippa United, head coach Morgan Mammila is unfazed by the prospect of facing Kaizer Chiefs in their DStv Premiership opener.

The Chili Boys kick off their 2023/24 campaign with a clash against Amakhosi on 6 August at the Moses Mabhida Stadium and Mammila takes confidence from leading the Gqeberha-based to a 2-1 victory over Chiefs last season.

Mammila, who's back at Chippa after a short spell at Swallows, also draws confidence from his unbeaten record in the city of Durban.

Here's how the readers reacted to the "'I have never lost in Durban' - confident Mammila unfazed by Chiefs clash" story:

"I like the old man's confidence and it will definitely rub off on the players," says Eduardo Dos Santos.

"Chiefs will be chowed," says Ntakunyisa Amapiano.

"'They're a different team, new players, sponsors, I just have to go back and look where i can hurt them even harder,' so Mammila knows for sure that he's going to abuse these Zebras. Everyone is fancying themselves against Ntseki's coaching capabilities," says Kekana.edward.

"Come 17:00, Sunday, 6 August, we will hear different stories from Mr shirts," says Pholasti.

"There is a first time for everything Mammila," says Rio Da Khosi.

"Uyadelela lo coach (This coach is rude)," says Khosination.

"Mammila and Ntseki, same WhatsApp group. He wouldn't say this if he was facing Hunt, Rulani, Komphela, Mngqithi etc," replies Ngwanamoshate.70.

"Kucacile (It's clear) that you don't know Mammila," replies Bamjee.

"Every team fancies themselves when they are playing Chiefs these days," says Saavedra.

"This thing won't even last 2 games," says Dumisanitembe72.

"There's always a first time Mr. Mammila..." says Mokaubere.

"Let the mind games start and some coaches will have sleepless nights," says Peter95157.

Mamelodi Sundowns head coach Rulani Mokwena has highlighted the qualities Junior Mendieta brings to his side.

Mendieta recently joined Masandawana in a blockbuster move from Stellenbosch FC, after making 19 goal contributions last season.

Mokwena says the Argentine brings dynamism in the number ten role, while also offering versatility as a number nine.

Mendieta was praised further for his counter pressing and Mokwena believes that the 30-year-old can add a different dimension to Sundowns' set-play.

Here's how the readers reacted to the "Rulani: 'The one thing people don't know about Mendieta...'" story:

"Sundowns always go for the best, I'm sure we're going to win the league again," says Dominate-downs.

"He is not gonna play, that's one thing for sure," says Dr WaLeKhosi.

"You said the same thing about Mokoena, Mbule, Shalulile, De Reuck, Maboe and every player Sundowns signs. But you ate humble pie. Concentrate on the free agents you signed and Bimenyimana," says Saavedra, who added:

"Rulani knows football."

"The boy must be ready to be a regular on the bench," says Mzamo.

"Extremely competitive like gift motupa," says NickNaks.
