Mothiba pays tribute to manager who had 'profound impact'

Lebo Mothiba has paid tribute to former manager Patrick Vieira, highlighting the Frenchman as someone who has had a profound impact on him.

The 28-year-old is currently a free agent after parting ways with Ligue 1 side RC Strasbourg where he spent six years and, in his last season at the club, played under the former OGC Nice head coach.

Taking to social media, Mothiba showered the tactician with affection, displaying an immense amount of gratitude for him. The player also revealed the ways in which he grew under the manager.

"I wanted to take a moment to express my gratitude for everything you've done for us,' he wrote in an Instagram post dedicated to the former Crystal Palace manager.

"Your leadership, dedication, and passion for the game have had a profound impact on all of us. Under your guidance, I've not only grown as a player but also as a person."

Over the course of the 2023/24 campaign, Mothiba scored three goals in 15 appearances before he suffered a Patellar tendon rupture in December last year that kept him side-lined for the rest of the season.

Despite his next destination seemingly unclear, the attacker looks as though he has grown really attached to the City he has been residing in for the past few years.

Taking to Instagram, he showed his followers that he is still in the city as he enjoyed a day out with friends, as well as taking the time to do some sightseeing and the admire the glittering architecture the place has to offer.
