With reports that SAFA president Danny Jordaan was arrested on Wednesday in connection with alleged fraud and theft charges, South African superfan Mama Joy Chauke has seemingly been left with egg on her face following her earlier remarks on social media. Here's a look!
The Story
The SAFA president is said to have appeared at the Specialised Commercial Crime Court in Palm Ridge on Wednesday after being arrested by the Hawks, according to News24.
Jordaan, along with two co-accused individuals, Gronie Hluyo and Trevor Neethling, also appeared in court, where they allegedly face charges of fraud and theft amounting to R1.3 million between 2014 and 2018.

Notably, though, Mama Joy had earlier written a post on her X account, where she appeared strongly against the notion that Jordaan would be arrested.
In a post that has since been deleted, Mama Joy wrote: "Hands off my President. I want to confirm that President Danny Jordaan is not going to court today or anywhere and he is not stepping aside."
She added: "He is busy with Bafana Bafana's last 2 games to qualify for AFCON, Uganda and Sudan."
But with widespread reports that the SAFA president was, in fact, arrested earlier on Wednesday, Mama Joy received a wave of backlash, as her earlier remarks have been proven inaccurate.
The matter remains ongoing, and The Sowetan now reports that Jordaan says he has raised R10 000 for bail, as he intends to plead not guilty to the charges against him.
