Ndah put on the spot: 'You dey play for South Africa?'

A short clip of Orlando Pirates star Olisah Ndah seemingly being put on the spot one of his Nigeria teammates is now making the rounds online. Here's a look!

The story

It is no secret that there's an ongoing football rivalry between the Super Eagles and Bafana Bafana, with their meetings having been an intensely contested affair for the better part of the last decade.

The last time the two nations met in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers in March this year, the match ended in a 1-1 draw in Nigeria and the home side were admittedly disappointed by the result as they would go on to lose their following qualifier 2-1 at the hands of Benin.

One fixture that completely epitomises the rivalry was when the teams locked horns in the semi-finals of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations in February, where Nigeria overcame Mzansi via a penalty shootout thanks to the heroics of Chippa United goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali.

After the match, there were widespread reports that several people in Nigeria had died while watching the game due to heart-related issues as the game provided end-to-end stuff serving fireworks on both ends.

So clearly, when Nigeria and Bafana meet, it is seemingly more than just a regular rivalry as pride is often also at stake as well.

Now, with Pirates captain Ndah having been re-called to the national team after he was snubbed from the 2023 AFCON squad, it appears that some of his teammates had a bit of banter towards him over where the centre-back plies his trade.

In a video posted by journalist Austin Ditlhobolo on X, AC Milan star Samuel Chukwueze appears to be teasing Ndah over the fact that he plays in South Africa. WATCH:

Elsewhere, Ndah recently admitted that he is open to a move to Europe, although he feels fulfilled at Pirates.

"I am happy where I am but I am open if any opportunity comes my way," said Ndah during Nigeria's training camp this week, according to Goal.

The 26-year-old has started in every match for the Bucs this season and he has captained the club to their third successive MTN8 cup final.
