The South African pair is joined by 14 other African stars, including players based both on the continent and abroad.

Notable nominees include Mohamed Salah, Ademola Lookman, Victor Osimhen, and Stephane Aziz Ki.

The winner will be determined through a public voting process, with the awards ceremony set to take place at the Emara Ole Sereni Hotel in Nairobi, Kenya, on 3 May 2025.

Meanwhile, Pitso Mosimane has been nominated in the Best Coach category, where he will compete against the likes of AFCON 2023-winning manager Emerse Faé and Bafana Bafana head coach Hugo Broos.

Mosimane is not the only South African coach to receive recognition. Newly appointed Kenya national team boss Benni McCarthy has also been shortlisted in the same category.
