With Ronwen Williams flying the South African flag very high at the 2024 CAF Awards, his former coach Rulani Mokwena caught up with the Bafana Bafana star after claiming two accolades at the ceremony. Here's a look!
The story
Williams won the 2024 Men's Goalkeeper of the Year and Men's Interclub Player of the Year awards at the ceremony in Morocco on Monday night.
The Mamelodi Sundowns star was the only recipient of two accolades on the night, capping off a phenomenal year, which also saw him nominated for the Yashin Trophy at the 2024 Ballon d'Or awards.

His former boss at Chloorkop, Mokwena, was surprisingly in attendance at the ceremony in Morocco, where he currently resides since taking over at Wydad Athletic Club.
In a behind-the-scenes video posted by Canal Plus journalist Nasredine Nasri, Mokwena is viewed taking a moment to congratulate the goalkeeper, for whom he shares huge admiration.
Mokwena has long made his feelings known about Williams, as he told South African media earlier this year that the shot-stopper is redefining the goalkeeping culture in Mzansi with his solid ability to play with his feet.
According to TimesLive, Mokwena said in April 2024; "I think what Ronwen has done this season will shape South African goalkeeping culture for many years to come.
"We are going to see teams recruiting goalkeepers because they can play with their feet and assist with the build-up more than a goalkeeper who can just stop shots. This thing is happening already worldwide, you see how Arsenal go for [David] Raya even though he is the shortest and it is the same with Tottenham.
"The number one requirement is that you must give 11 players possession. That is what Ronwen is going to do, he is going to influence the tactical thinking of South African football in relation to the profile of the goalkeepers."
