Khama Billiat flexes his business muscles

With Khama Billiat seemingly having enjoyed his time in Zimbabwe, it might be bolstered by all the financial opportunities that have become available to him.

The 34-year-old joined Yadah FC back in February this year and has since lit up the field, also helping Zimbabwe book a spot at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.

This came after the midfielder came back after initially retiring from international football.

The former PSL star registered one goal –  a winner against Namibia at Orlando Stadium in October in a 1-0 victory – and an assist during the qualifying campaign.

In fact, his hard work for the national side has resulted in him and his teammates being rewarded with some handsome cash prizes.

That, however, is not the only monetary rewards Billiat has collected in recent times.

The player appears to have a brand deal in place with a company called Avelion Trading, as he took to social media to promote the product and encourage his followers to purchase it.

"Have you heard about Avelion Trading yet? Avelion Trading is a company that specializes in solvent cements (glue that joins pvc pipes) contact them now and order," he wrote on social media.

He also seems to have partnered up with cooking oil brand Sun Soya, while also using his social media following of just over 200 000 followers to promote other products and brands as well.

Social media has become an essential tool for athletes like Khama Billiat to connect with fans, build their personal brands, and create lucrative business opportunities.

Platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, and X allow players to showcase their lives beyond football, reaching large audiences with posts that are often highly engaging and interactive.

For brands, this makes athletes an attractive choice for partnerships as their influence can directly translate into increased visibility and sales.
