Downs heart-breaker on his Magesi future

Elvis Chipezeze, the man of the moment, has spoken about his future with the newly crowned Carling Knockout champions, Magesi FC.

After winning four Man of the Match awards in the Carling Knockout and playing a key role in securing the trophy, the Zimbabwean goalkeeper is expected to be named the cup competition's Player of the Tournament.

When asked about his future with the Limpopo club, the 34-year-old assured the Clinton Larsen-coached team that he is not currently looking to leave.

"No, no, no, I'm not in the shop window," says Chipezeze, speaking exclusively to KickOff.com.

"At the moment, I'm still focused on Magesi. I have a contract with the club. I'm happy with the project we are working on. The chairman brought me here to improve the club and inspire the kids coming from our small village, Moletjie.

"It's an exciting time in Limpopo, so for now, I'm just concentrating on Magesi. My mission is to help the team grow, and the rest will follow. For me, it's all about taking it one game at a time," he explains.

Chipezeze says going down a division to campaign in the Motsepe Foundation Championship was never an issue for him as he believed that is all part of football.

"It happens all the time. Sometimes you go up, and sometimes you go down. You just have to keep working hard.

"You take a gamble, and sometimes luck is on your side. When the Magesi chairman brought me to the team, he had a plan, and I'm just happy we are progressing as a club.

"When I sat down with him, we discussed how we wanted the club to grow. He wanted me to help the kids who look up to me learn and develop. In just two years with the club, it seems we are making progress."
