Magesi's R300k man on 'emotions, feelings' of facing Downs

Club captain Elvis Chipezeze has outlined Magesi FC's plans for the upcoming Carling Knockout final, where the top-flight newbies have what appears to be a mammoth task against Mamelodi Sundowns.

Magesi are at the doorstep of a historic feat in winning an elite division trophy in their first season of football at this level and will have to chance to achieve that when they meet giants Sundowns at the Toyota Stadium in Free State on Saturday.

The Limpopo outfit has already proved their pedigree by knocking out Orlando Pirates in the first round of the competition.

SuperSport United and Kaizer Chiefs could not beat Magesi in the league either, as both games ended in draw.

They come up against a Sundowns side just as desperate for a trophy, having missed out on the MTN8 to Pirates and being even denied the exhibition Home of Legends Cup by rivals Chiefs.

Chipezeze, who has been immense for Magesi in their cup run and led from the back, believes the key to winning the match is to approach it similarly to all their previous games.

"It's a motivation on its own because we are playing one of the big teams in South Africa and even Africa.

"They have been doing well when you look at their past results, I think they haven't been beaten in the cup. They just fell short against Polokwane City.

"We are just looking forward to Saturday to make sure we work hard like we have been doing in the past games. It's going to be a cup final game and we know finals are different... the emotions, the feelings.

"We are just going to go out there and enjoy, put a smile on our faces and enjoy it because we are in this game to enjoy.

"As much as a lot is at stake, we are just going to approach this game like all the other games we have played. We know they have a squad full of quality, we know all that, but we are just going to go out there and enjoy.

"We'll put on a smile and try to work as hard as we can," added the former Baroka FC man.
