Larsen: One thing that we don't lack is...

Magesi FC coach Clinton Larsen has hailed his team's fighting spirit behind their success in the league this season.

Larsen's charges wrote themselves a name in South African football history after qualifying for the Carling Knockout Cup final in their maiden appearance in the top-flight this season.

The Limpopo- based side beat Richards Bay by 1-0 in Kwazulu-Natal the past weekend to set up a meeting with Mamelodi Sundowns in the final in Bloemfontein on 23 November 2025.

Magesi also beat Orlando Pirates on their way to the Carling Knockout Cup final.

"I am happy for the club, for the chairman, for the supporters of the team but like I keep saying the players might not be the most talented group of individuals but unbelievable fighting spirit within the group as as coach I really appreciate that,", said Larsen during the press conference after the match against Richards Bay.

"I have accepted that we have deficiency in all our departments, but one thing that we don't lack is the fighting spirit in the group and is the reason we are where we are now", he added.

Larsen last beat Sundowns in the Telkom Knockout Cup whilst still with Bloemfontein Celtics in 2012, with Joel Mogorosi scoring a controversial goal for Celtic to hand Larsen his first trophy as a professional coach.
