Marcelo Allende's passionate knocks on the door for his return to international football are sounding louder than ever since arriving at Mamelodi Sundowns.
Allende is in his second season of delivering top-notch performances that have justified the millions that Sundowns paid for his transfer from Uruguayan club Montevideo City Torque.

However, for all his efforts at The Brazilians, the little maestro has found no joy in adding to the one senior national team cap that he has for Chile.
The latest information gathered from the South American country's capital – Santiago – is that new Chilean coach Ricardo Gareca is following Allende with interest since taking over in January from Eduardo Berrizzo.

Berrizzo ignored Allende throughout his 18-month reign after taking over from Martin Lasarte, who gave the former Chile U20 captain his senior debut just over two years ago.
A KickOff.com contact in Chile familiar with the DStv Premiership says it will be difficult to ignore Allende any further if Sundowns win the Champions League or qualify for the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup.
The DStv Premiership might be of no interest in Chile, but then being continental champions or qualifying for the Club World Cup carries weight.
Allende – who captained Chile at the 2019 South American U20 Championships – has 11 goal contributions this season and the target for him is breaking into the Copa America squad in June.
La Roja have Lionel Messi's Argentina, Peru and Canada in Group A with their games to be played in Texas, New Jersey and Florida.

Sundowns will qualify for the expanded tournament in USA next year by either winning the Champions League or as the best-placed club in the CAF ranking system.
From the trio of Sundowns, Esperance and TP Mazembe, two will go through to the Club World Cup regardless of what happens in what remains of the Champions League this season.
Al Ahly and Wydad Casablanca are already through as winners of the last two editions of the Champions League.
CAF has an allocation of four places.

Chile's representation at the World Cup is dependent on one of their clubs winning the 2024 Copa Libertadores, which only ever happened once before, back in 1991.
Option B will be having two clubs in the two qualifying spots in the CONMEBOL four-year ranking.
