Roger Feutmba, regarded as one of the greatest players to have ever worn the Mamelodi Sundowns jersey, has weighed in on the parting of ways between the club and head coach Manqoba Mngqithi on Tuesday.
Sundowns have now brought in Portuguese coach Miguel Cardoso to continue from where Mngqithi left off with a key CAF Champions League fixture against Raja Casablanca looming large on the horizon.

"They had to let him go because they felt he couldn't meet the target set by the management at the beginning of the season," Feutmba tells KickOff.com.
"Maybe they believed that even if he was given more time, he would not meet that target.
"Remember, the main target at Sundowns is the Champions League.
"We shouldn't forget that Manqoba is a good coach. He was around when Sundowns was winning all these cups. He contributed also," he continues.
The former Brazilians playmaker believes as head coach, Mngqithi couldn't capitalize on all the knowledge he gained from working with Pitso Mosimane and Rulani Mokwena.
"Because surely, each one of them benefitted from the other.
"You can say he failed, but just because he's been at Sundowns for too long, he is not a new coach.

"You can say he needs more time to adapt, [but] when he took over, he was supposed to know what to do.
"And another thing, as a coach, you must make sure you control your dressing room well and respect the players."
Cardoso joins with three assistants, in Fabio Fernandes, Pedro Azevedo, and Joao Araujo.
