Sundowns aiming to break jinx in Morocco

Mamelodi Sundowns will aim to record their second win in the CAF Champions League group stages when they take on Raja Casablanca at the Stade Larbi Zaouli in Morocco on Saturday.

Sundowns defeated Raja 1-0g their first leg match played in Tshwane in December 2024 to record their victory in group stages this season.

The Brazilians remain unbeaten in Group B of the Champions League with five points after playing three games so far this season, level on points with AS FAR Rabat.

Coach Miguel Cardoso will be looking forward to keeping his unbeaten record intact since took over as head coach at Chloorkop when his team faces Raja Casablanca in the CAF Champions League match on Saturday.

"This is another important game for us and we know our responsibilities for this game. We studied our opponent very well to prepare for this game. We had a long trip but we are comfortable and ready. I feel we are in the right moment to face Raja with due respect", Cardoso told the media in Morocco.

Defender Grant Kekana says they are ready to put behind their poor record in Morocco behind and fight for the three points against Raja on Saturday evening.

" I don't this going to affect our preparation. We understand the past is the past, ours is to look forward to the next match. We going to have the utmost respect for Raja." Kekana added.

"They are a big team, and they gonna make it difficult for us but we believe in ourselves, we believe in the structure, we believe in what we have been doing and it's just about us on the day making sure we are able to put down what we have been working on."
