Reigning DStv Premiership champions Mamelodi Sundowns have once again been ranked as South Africa's leading team and as the fifth best team on the African continent by the International Federation of Football History Statistics (IFFHS).
Masandawana have climbed one place in the world ranking to 87th position overall, one place ahead of Bundesliga giants Borussia Dortmund, but have some way to go before closing the gap between themselves and Egyptian giants Al Ahly.

Meanwhile, Orlando Pirates (143) rank 13th in Africa despite slipping 10 places in the global rankings while AmaZulu (joint 298) feature as the only other South African outfit in the released list of 300 clubs from across the globe, notwithstanding a 61-place hit.
