Former Orlando Pirates striker Thulasizwe Mbuyane has commented on Thembinkosi Lorch's limited playing time at Mamelodi Sundowns after the club's latest defeat in the Carling Knockout final.
The 31-year-old was brought in by the side's former coach Rulani Mokwena, coming in from Orlando Pirates, leaving their fans in a state of confusion as he had been one of their best players and a fan-favourite of note.
Since Mokwena's departure from Chloorkop, however, Lorch has made just six appearances in all competitions this season.

"His lack of game-time has nothing to do with him not being suited for Sundowns," notes Mbuyane, speaking to KickOff.com.
"I believe he is a quality player, a mature player who understands that form can sometimes fluctuate, but he deserves a spot in the team.
"I think he could have made a difference even in the game against Magesi FC if given the chance.
"However, it is ultimately the coach who decides the selection, as he is the one present during training. Lorch does get game-time at times, but it depends on who the coach feels is right for each match.
"Lorch is of high quality, still young, and has plenty to offer. I think Manqoba Mngqithi's patience could provide Lorch with the boost he needs. He has performed well in the games he has played so far, so he shouldn't be written off.
"I believe squad rotation is the main reason he isn't playing regularly," he adds.

Mbuyane, a nightmare for Sundowns during his Pirates days, says the squad rotation strategy is proving effective for Mngqithi and that the players must understand they will play in certain matches, which does not mean they are excluded from the team.
"Every player wants to represent a big club. Leaving Pirates for a smaller club would have put him at a disadvantage. That's why he chose a team like Sundowns, which is full of talent.
"Players aspire to play for winning teams, and Sundowns is one of those teams. Lorch recognized that he had a good chance of winning trophies with them," concludes 'Juju'.
Sundowns' next match is a CAF Champions League Group B encounter against Maniema Union of DR Congo at home on Tuesday.
