Mamelodi Sundowns coach Rulani Mokwena has heaped praise on star striker Peter Shalulile who is now just second on the list all-time goal scorers in the Premier Soccer League.
Sundowns bulldozed past Cape Town Spurs with a 3-0 hammering to extend their winning run in the DStv Premiership to 11 wins from 11 matches.
Goals came from Peter Shalulile, Sipho Mbule and Grant Kekana, while the Urban Warriors failed to register a single shot a goal.
For Shalulile, the win carried even more significance as his goal – a 111th since arriving in the PSL, takes him above Daniel Mudau on the list of the PSL's top scorers' charts to second place, only behind Siyabonga Nomvethe, who netted an impressive 123 goals.

Speaking at the post-match press conference, Mokwena said credit should go to Shalulile's teammates and that injuries had slowed down the Namibian.
"I'm very proud of Peter but of course with these types of achievements, someone must give you an assist. I don't think in those goals I remember quite a lot of free kicks and penalties," Mokwena said.
"It's true, somebody must give Peter the pass to score so the reality is what he has achieved is not only just about him but also about the contribution of the collective, you know.
"There's teammates that have supplied him with passes and have created these chances. I mean today's goal, Lebo's cross was unbelievable you know, he attempted three crosses, another one we put in the air and I was upset, the second one, Peter couldn't connect he could have used the left foot instead of the right but he did the movements [correctly].

"Peter is such an amazing human being, I must tell you, I've never seen such a such a focus. I really don't even have the words, you know.
"Peter prays for this team and when we're looking for people to pray with Peter even when I'm going through difficulties, I sometimes pick up the phone and say, 'Please pray for me, put me in your prayers,' because it seems like he has a direct line to God, you know.
"Peter is extremely blessed but it's a reflection of the type of person he is, he's a good human being and validates the statement that I always say that good footballers and to be good people and because then you correlate to the universe.
"So because people like Peter, you know, they still understand that responsibility to the universe. They've got to inspire certain people and they make me not only a better coach, but also they make me a better human being, because I learn from them. Long may it continue and I wish him all the best.

"I think without the injuries last season, maybe we would be talking that he's probably already the top scorer in the history of the PSL.
"But I think with the team that he has, the coaches he has and the teammates around him, I'm sure, 100% that he will definitely surpass that.
Shalulile shared the DStv Premiership's Golden Boot award with Khanyisa Mayo last season and will have to pull up his socks to battle for it once more, with Mayo already on seven goals for the season.
