Mamelodi Sundowns head coach Rulani Mokwena has defended the depth of his squad amid criticism of hoarding the country's best players as a congested schedule looms for The Brazilians.
The Brazilians extended their incredible Premier Soccer League (PSL) winning streak to 13 consecutive victories with a 2-1 win over TS Galaxy on Tuesday night at the Mbombela Stadium in Mpumalanga.
Sundowns has come under fire from coaches and retired players alike over the 'hoarding' of the country's best players, with retired Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Jabu Mahlangu going is far as to say the Chloorkop-based side is 'killing' Bafana Bafana.

However, with games coming thick and fast for The Brazilians and a congested schedule that includes both the Nedbank Cup and CAF Champions League fixtures, Mokwena believes the depth of his squad is vindicated.
"We know about the schedule, we knew about the schedule even before the mini-mid- season break and we worked a little bit harder on trying to train everyone," Mokwena said when asked how his side is coping with the fixtures.
"The depth allows us to - like you see today - to give opportunities, confidently so, and put faith and confidence and trust in each every one of the players that are in the team.
"The only solution to a hectic schedule is freshness and rotation and to make everyone feel part of the process.
"So we continue to work, it's the seventh game today when others have played only three and maybe only four. We've played seven games in 24 days. It's not easy because that means there's not enough time for training but we're working a little bit harder to make sure we continue to improve the team and improve the players as individuals.
On Saturday, Sundowns will host an in-form Sekhukhune United that, like Sundowns, is without a loss in the last five matches.
