Sundowns facing sensational club crisis

Mamelodi Sundowns could sensationally be facing a potential club crisis after the latest revelations that the first-team squad is facing growing discontent after a reported bust-up.

KickOff exclusively revealed in a separate incident that a first-team player had also allegedly tested positive for an illegal substance.

Rulani Mokwena and his technical team are now reportedly facing huge issues within the dressing room after allegedly being involved in a heated altercation with a senior player that may point to wider discontent within the Brazilians' squad.

The player in question - whose identity is known to this publication -  was not part of the traveling party for the CAF Champions League trip to Al Ahly last Saturday.

The disgruntled star has now reportedly stopped training with the first-team squad after the heated exchange.

"The player is frustrated due to lack of game-time and the club delaying its decision on whether to renew his contract," a source within the club tells KickOff.

"He has not been in a good frame of mind with his mental health affected and has since been driven to drink due to his frustration at Sundowns."

Sundowns chose not to comment when reached.
