Lucas Ribeiro Costa has been encouraged to consider Bafana Bafana for his international career considering that his chances of being called to the Brazil national team are between non-existent and thin.
Being considered for the five-time world champions has never happened for a Brazilian playing his football in South Africa.

The next option to play international football for Ribeiro Costa then becomes Bafana Bafana, but that will happen with satisfying the conditions of becoming a naturalized citizen in South Africa.
At the 2022 World Cup, as many as 122 players represented countries other than the one where they were born, with FIFA rules and regulations accommodative.
"This is a personal choice, but I think it would be an opportunity for him to play for Bafana Bafana," reasons Ricardo Nascimento, another Brazilian who played for Mamelodi Sundowns.
Nascimento spent five-and-a-half years at Chloorkop, winning five league titles, the CAF Champions League, CAF Super Cup, MTN8, Telkom Knockout, and Nedbank Cup and so still takes interest despite being on the other side of the Atlantic Ocean.
"This is a top player.
"It would also be a great reinforcement for Bafana Bafana.
"I don't know if they even know about him here in Brazil.

"Actually, unfortunately, I don't think they even know about him here in Brazil.
"That's why I think it will be interesting that he plays for Bafana Bafana," says Nascimento of the man with 12 goals and 10 assists already this season.
