An insinuation that defender Veluyeke Zulu had travelled with Orlando Pirates on their tour of Spain has sparked a mini-outrage among the club's faithful, and KickOff have gone out to get the truth.
And it seems, after all, there is no basis to the rumour.
Instead, it is Baroka FC that are reaping the rewards of having Morgan Mammila as head coach. Suddenly, the Limpopo-based outfit is attracting top talent.
The tough-talking coach, who previously worked with clubs like Chippa United and Moroka Swallows, is looking to bring in at least four new players who played DStv Premiership football last season.

And as a start, Bakgaga have tabled a two-year deal for former AmaZulu FC star Veluyeke Zulu.
The CAF B Licence holder says more players are expected at the club's training base.
"So far, our pre-season has been going well, slowly but surely, and there have to be many new faces," Mammila tells KickOff in an exclusive interview.
"Remember, I was in the PSL [topflight], so I know too many quality players, I know players who might not get contracts from PSL teams.
"I'm patiently waiting for them to come this side and join us, you know, but at the moment I'm still having only my players.
"We're expecting a few players from the PSL next week on Monday," added Mammila.
He confirmed that indeed, Zulu has surfaced at Baroka. This puts to bed speculation in local media that the player had travelled with the Buccaneers on their pre-season tour of Spain.
Ahead of their friendly match against English Championship side Plymouth Argyle, the Soweto giants named two players with the surname Zulu, with one of them being newly-signed goalkeeper Bayanda Zulu, whilst the identity of the other remained a mystery.
It was at this point that a local soccer publication posted on X that it was Veluyeke Zulu, though the post was later deleted.
"Yes, he is here. He is my boy. "After I saw that he had been released by AmaZulu, I gave him a call, and he said he was at home. I said, 'No, come over here'.
"So, yes, he is here with me, and we will take it from there.
"He is an underrated hardworking player. These are the kind of players that you need if you want to get promoted."
According to Baroka chairman Khurishi Mphahlele, Zulu will be signed before the end of this week.

"We are signing this boy. He is going for [a] medical, and a two-year deal will be good for him. Thanks to our coach, he always has a plan up his sleeves and the boys love him.
"Because we have already parted ways with [Matome] Mathiane, [Lehlohonolo] Nonyane... I think we will replace them with at least four former PSL players, and the rest will be U23s."
