The former Ajax Cape Town, Kaizer Chiefs and Bloemfontein Celtic defender has been joined by Siyabonga Bhembe, who has also been sacked at Mbombela United.

Simon Ngomane has taken charge at Mbombela.

According to a source close to Umoya, Petim has been given a short period to turn fortunes around before the club starts looking for a new coach.

"Petim is caretaker coach. He is being assisted by Roger de Sa in the meantime," the source tells snl24.com/kickoff.

"There is a chance that he could remain caretaker coach until the end of the season if he does well."

Umoya beat TS Galaxy 3-1 in Cape Town on Saturday while Mbombela managed to secure three points at home after beating Richards Bay 4-0 at Kanyamazane Stadium over the weekend.
