A KwaZulu-Natal club is preparing a contract for former Kaizer Chiefs and Golden Arrows midfielder Sandile Zuke.
Zuke, who was released by Arrows at the end of last season, has now found a new home at GladAfrica Championship log leaders Uthongathi FC.
"Ok we are hoping to conclude that, it hasn't been concluded yet but it's 90 percent so far you know," Uthongathi head coach Johnny Ferreira tells snl24.com/kickoff.
"So he won't be eligible for the game this week, but hopefully next week versus JDR he will be in our travelling squad. I don't know [the term of his contract], I'm not part of the negotiations. I would think June next year [it would end] or a year I don't know hey.

"Zuke is not on trial, we've made a decision to keep him. We think he can add value to the centre of the midfield, and I don't think we are going make a mistake at all hey [by signing him].
"I just think we need to get the people in the office to meet with Zuke at an appropriate time. I just think they missed each other the last one or two days because of the rain and a few other obstacles but I think the management is very happy with our decision to recruit him and I think Zuke is very happy to come to the club."

Ferreira says bringing in experienced players like Issa Sarr and Cheslyn Jampies among others have really made a difference to his team this season.
"We are just trying to make this team stronger than it was, that's all. We believe he's going to add value Zuke. Issa Sarr added value, Jampies added value, Badra [Ali Sangare] added value. So ja we think these guys will help our little boys the under-23s.

"I don't think those players would have come to us if we were number eight or nine or ten in the league. We got Ali Badra, goalkeeper from Ivory Coast and Free State Stars, we got Issa Sarr, we got Jampies, now Zuke is coming on board hopefully. So ja it's interesting how these players are attracted to the teams that are doing well."
Asked for the latest on former Bafana Bafana star Thanduyise Khuboni, who is still being assessed at the club, Ferreira said there was still a long way to go for the veteran.

"Khuboni is still training with us. I need to make an assessment on Khuboni and he's going to have to train a little bit longer with me.
"I'm not one hundred percent convinced that Khuboni can add value at this moment but when he gets fit, when he gets strong, I think he's going to be a fantastic player once again. But I need to see him train a little bit longer to see if his fitness improves you know."
