Three second-half goals from Ryan Moon, Bernard Parker and Joseph Molangoane handed Chiefs a 3-0 win over Arrows in the Nedbank Cup last 32.
“It’s great to win and progress to the next stage. It wasn’t easy. I don’t think we played according to our game plan in the first half, we were very poor. The coach gave us a tongue lashing in the dressing room and we came out better in the second half,” Khune told SuperSport TV.
“I think we need to be given a kick always to be reminded of how good we are and how capable we are to get this kind of result.
“We switched off most of the time and were caught on transition. We know Golden Arrows are good, they like sitting and expect us to attack and as soon as they attack they catch us on transition. Our game plan was that we need to guard on that but first half we didn’t do that. At halftime we needed to remind each other how important it is as soon as we lose the ball to quickly press before they get their heads up and find other options.
“I’m happy that we got the three goals and a clean sheet. We could have scored more. It’s a story of our lives but we’re happy we’ve progressed into the next stage. Thanks to the Khosi nation.”
