KICK OFF looks at the biggest-scoring PSL cup finals of the new millennium

SuperSport United did a Ke Yona double over Orlando Pirates on Saturday, following up last year’s 3-2 final win over the Buccaneers with an even more comprehensive 4-1 victory at Moses Mabhida Stadium.

In fact, Matsatsantsa crack the list three times, having seen off Platinum Stars 3-2 in the 2014 Telkom Knockout final to make SuperSport the most lethal cup-final team in South Africa over the last decade.

When it comes to complete demolitions, Golden Arrows hit Ajax Cape Town for a literal six in the 2009 MTN8 final, while Kaizer Chiefs grabbed five unanswered goals in their 2001 Coca-Cola Cup walkover of Jomo Cosmos.

Ajax do get some reprieve on the list, however, having shot down Pirates 4-1 in the 2000 Rothmans Cup, which now flies under the Telkom Knockout banner.
