Riveiro sends message to Mofokeng & Nkota

Orlando Pirates head coach Jose Riveiro gave a birthday message to rising star Relebohile Mofokeng after their 2-0 win over SuperSport United in the Betway Premiership.

Pirates extended their perfect start to four matches in the league thanks to goals by Evidence Makgopa and Deon Hotto.

Riveiro suggested that what was key was to win the physical battles, which Deano Van Rooyen played a big part of after he was named Man of the Match.

"Very important three points after not a good game two days ago. It's so difficult to play against this team, you really need to be in a good level in the duels, in the physical part of the game. It's always nice to play against them and it's very nice to collect the fourth victory in a row, we keep going," Riveiro said on SuperSport TV.

"The physicality in these types of games with SuperSport is very important, he [Deano Van Rooyen] managed to control it well in a defensive phase. Not allowing their players to look for crosses, he did a fantastic job with the complement of everybody around of course.

"Man of the match, I think there were six, seven candidates tonight in our squad but happy for Deano and the team in general," the Spanish coach said.

The 47-year-old mentor also opened up about 19-year-old Mohau Nkota making his first start and had a birthday message to Relebohile Mofokeng, who is turning 20 on Wednesday.

"It's just the beginning for him [Nkota], he needs to understand that this is just one game. He needs to improve a lot of things still. I think he played 65 minutes with his own personality, that's what matters for me. He needs to work hard because in professional football nothing comes for free," Riveiro said.

"It's difficult to know the age of Rele when you see him on the field. It's just a number, he needs to, like Mohau, continue improving because he still has a lot of space to become a better football player, so the future belongs to him."
