Pirates and SuperSport set for crunch Lepasa talks

Orlando Pirates and SuperSport United are set for crunch talks regarding the services of striker Zakhele Lepasa ahead of the transfer window deadline on Friday.

Lepasa is set yet to feature for Pirates this season after being left out of both MTN8 and CAF Champions League games since last month.

The Soweto giants gave the opportunity to young marksman Boitumelo Radiopane when they defeated Jwaneng Galaxy in the first leg of their Champions League second preliminary round match played in Botswana this past weekend.

Bucs head coach Jose Riveiro has preferred both Tshegofatso Mabasa and Evidence Makgopa to lead the attacking line, whilst Lepasa continues to bite his nails in the stands at the Soweto giants.

The 27-year-old was loaned out to Matsatsantsa during the 2022/3 season and managed to score nine goals in all competitions, before being recalled to Pirates the following season.

However, despite a blistering start to last term, the Bafana Bafana star faded away and has become somewhat of a forgotten figure at the Houghton-based club.

"Zakhele Lepasa has already made up his mind about joining SuperSport United. The two clubs are expected to finalise the deal before the end of this week," said a source at Pirates.

Meanwhile, Ezimnyama Ngenkani are said to be finalising the rest of their transfer business before Friday's deadline, with a few players set to be heading out, either permanently or on loan.
