Zwane: Pirates are on another level

Former Orlando Pirates midfielder Mandla Zwane says AmaZulu FC will find it difficult to stop Orlando Pirates following their stubborn performance against Kaizer Chiefs.

On Saturday, Usuthu caused one of the biggest upsets this season when they knocked Chiefs out of the Carling Black Label Cup.

Pirates are in position 14 on the DStv Premiership table with only 7 seven points gathered, they have only played five matches compared to table toppers Mamelodi Sundowns who are 24 points after 8 matches.

"Pirates are on form, and the Premier Soccer League is never easy, so this game will not be easy," Zwane tells KickOff.

"AmaZulu has that history of playing well against the big clubs, but unfortunately that won't happen today because you cannot defeat the two bulls in a space of four days.

"I think the weekend game against Kaizer Chiefs took a lot from the AmaZulu players.

"Pirates are playing the kind of football that is pleasing to their supporters and everyone associated with the Buccaneers.

"Right now, Pirates are on another level. They just need to transform their cup form into the league form.

"I know the Orlando Pirates coach what he wants this season is the league title. And that journey of closing the huge gap Sundowns has opened starts today against AmaZulu.

"There is still hope of catching Sundowns, remember there is still a second round coming, trips to Africa will hurt Sundowns and that is going to give Pirates an advantage. The month of May is too far.

"A lot can still happen. If Sundowns can draw two of their matches or even lose one for that matter, that's points dropped.

"Now that we are no longer in the Champions League, we need to take one game at a time."

Kick-off at the Moses Mabhida Stadium is at 19:30.
