Appollis in Polokwane plug in

The transfer possibilities that will tempt Polokwane City to let go of Oswin Appollis have lost grip with the prospect of a January exit also still thin.

Appollis was a subject of transfer speculation throughout the past window with MC Alger at the forefront.

The Algerian champions were also joined by local clubs, who included Kaizer Chiefs, but nothing came to fruition.

There has also been talk of pursuing European options.

Appollis has since played five matches for Polokwane, including a Man of the Match performance in the Carling Knockout against Marumo Gallants over the weekend.

This website has since been informed that the club's boss Johnny Mogaladi hasn't changed his stance on holding on to the player, who remains in the Bafana Bafana squad.

The 23-year-old has played the last seven games for Bafana and all he needs to stay relevant in the national team is to keep delivering where he is contracted.

Word from Polokwane is that the club has no intentions of letting go of their star player this season even with the January window coming up.

Being in the national team, Appollis is looked upon as the 'light' and the club is aware of the challenges that will come with seeking to find a replacement.

The plus for Rise and Shine is that they are guaranteed of an increase in value for Appollis if he is in the national team.

Already, his evaluation has grown tenfold from what it was when he was recruited from Pretoria Callies at the beginning of last season.

He will be on show on Sunday with the Limpopo outfit hosting Mamelodi Sundowns.
